Nicole's Darling Divas My Girls Are Going To Be Stars

Her daughters are taking centre stage

Nicole Kidman doesn’t like to use the word “bossy” when describing her two youngest children. “There’s a negative connotation to bossy,” Nicole replies when asked about her daughters Sunday Rose, nine, and Faith Margaret, six. “You don’t really call boys bossy, so why should we call a girl bossy?”

But the Aussie actress happily admits her little ones are very strong-willed. “I have two little alphas, put it that way!” she grins.

Indeed, Nicole’s girls are so resolute in their opinions that even if the role of a lifetime came up, she’d turn it down on their say-so – in fact, the Oscar winner has already done just that!

Nicole, who turned 50 last month, and her Whangarei-born husband, country crooner Keith Urban, 49, have a firm policy about holding family meetings at their Nashville home when it comes to any work projects they’re thinking about taking on. And the actress says Sunday and Faith hold more sway than many might think.

One such occasion occurred recently, when Nicole asked her brood if she could take Photograph 51, a play she starred in on the London stage, to New York. “Both my kids said no and my husband said, ‘I hope not,’ so there it is,” she explains. “I would have loved to have done that on Broadway, but I love my husband and children more.”
