The 44-year-old reveals how he copes with the pressures of starring in his new Marvel film Venom: Let There Be Carnage and what his boy thinks of his character

Venom has become such a huge Marvel character – and franchise. Has it made you a cool dad with your kids and their friends?

I hope so. My son is a big Venom and Marvel fan, and I’ve learned a lot about this incredible universe through him, which has been fun. It’s great to do something he can enjoy because a lot of what I have done is not suitable for a 13-year-old. But then I go and bite someone’s head off as Venom! I do it with the best of intentions, though, so that’s OK!
