You Too Can Ace Exams

You are in school or college and you have just finished your exams; but soon the next semester’s exams are going to be nearing. Even if you are out of school/college exams always loom in various situations. So, what is a good way to ace exams?

The popular methods of jolts of java and pulling all-nighters, alas, are not going to work. If you want to ace your midterms and finals, go and visit a friend – not just ‘hanging out and chitchatting’ but telling them what you know.

Actively “replay” the information you have studied for test success says Baylor University psychologist Dr Melanie Sekeres. “Telling someone else about what you’ve learned is a really effective way for students to study instead of just re-reading the textbook or class notes.”

The Baylor study was published in the journal Learning and Memory. It proclaims that the replaying strategy takes significantly more effort, but it can be worth it since it leads to enhanced memory of the details in the long run.
