Nestled in the lush landscapes of Phu Quoc, the Regent Phu Quoc resort stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of Vietnamese culture and architecture. Drawing inspiration from the countryâs vernacular architecture, the design team embarked on a journey to reinterpret traditional elements in a contemporary context. With a commitment to preserving local heritage, the architecture reflects a deep respect for Vietnamâs diverse architectural legacy while seamlessly integrating modern luxury.
A STRUCTURAL MUSE
At the heart of the design is the Bovi, a traditional wooden truss system commonly found in Vietnamese homes. This structural hallmark inspired the creation of subtle patterns that weave throughout the resort, appearing in screens, carpets, and accessories. The abstraction of the Bovi serves as both a visual motif and a structural element, providing an elegant framework that captures the essence of Vietnamese craftsmanship. Each detail echoes the past while simultaneously embracing the sophistication of contemporary design.
INTIMATE COURTYARDS
A key feature of the master plan is the intimate courtyard within each villa, complete with private plunge pools. This concept draws from the traditional architectural feature known as Gian Nha, where small pockets and courtyards create serene, private spaces. The design blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living, offering guests a sanctuary that redefines luxury resort living. Each courtyard invites relaxation and contemplation, encouraging a deeper connection with the surrounding natural beauty.
