Bloody Marys at the Dead End Bar, Angie Kritz and the Polkatoons playing live music, drones flying overhead, more than 200 boats, and lots and lots of people. And that was just the first stop on this years' annual Nebraska Columbus Run, July 30-31, 2022.
This is by far the largest airboat run in the Midwest, and it never disappoints. This year it was bigger and better than ever. The Friday evening "kickoff" party at the Nebraska Airboat Association's homefront has become a tradition started by Matt Shaw. This is just a little warm-up for the weekend served up with brats, beer and many old friends. Always a good time.
Saturday morning the weather was perfect. The official gathering point is Kroeger's Island and the Dead End Bar, a landmark on the Platte River. Thanks to Matt Kroeger's hospitality, the first stop was a huge success.

Poker Run to Help a Friend
A few of my friends reached out to me, the manager at Jolly Gator Fish Camp, needing help to raise money for Eddie aka \"Peanut\" Scott for a kidney transplant. We jumped into action. With not much time, we planned an airboat poker run for October 5, 2024.
