THE World Economic Forum (WEF) ranked India at 135 out of 146 countries in its Global Gender Gap (GGG) Index for 2022. This reflects India's performance on critical areas such as health and survival, economic participation and opportunity, and education and attainment. To bridge this gap, it is imperative to take efforts to support the female gender across all these areas. Health inequity negatively impacts the socio-economic opportunities for women.
Women's health still remains an area of concern as it is underserved by research. As per reports, today, only 4 per cent of all biopharma R&D spending goes toward female-centric issues, leading to a lack of understanding of women's health issues. Holistic women's health comprises nutrition, oncology, reproductive, menopause, urological as well as other healthcare applications.
