Young professionals who have grown up in a digital age bring valuable knowledge about emerging technologies, social media trends, and new business models that can be critical for companies navigating digital transformation. General Electric was one of the pioneers in adopting reverse mentoring. Former CEO Jack Welch introduced this concept in the late 1990s. At GE, younger employees were paired with senior executives to teach them about the Internet and emerging technologies.
