This was according to Francois Smith, president of the South African society.
"This is good news indeed for the broader Boran breeding industry, not only for Kenya but for the international Boran breed as a whole. Precision animal recording, as provided by SA Stud Book's Logix system, would invariably result in more reliable breeding values that would benefit the breed and breeders alike. Interestingly enough, it is now 30 years since the first Boran genetics were imported from Kenya to South Africa," Smith told Farmer's Weekly.
