Palak Muchhal and Mithoon are superstars in their own right in the music industry, and their wedding this month was a grand affair attended by the who's who of the Indian music industry. Names like Sonu Nigam, Armaan Malik, Udit Narayan, Aditya Narayan, and Niti Mohan with husband Nihar Pandya, to name a few, graced the occasion. Muchhal has always been deeply associated with charitable causes and has delivered hit after hit in movies. Mithoon has been a renowned music director for many years. Palak and Mithoon also worked together on the superhit music album for the movie AASHIQUI 2, which released to positive reviews. In an exclusive interview with Filmfare, the justmarried couple spoke to us about life after marriage.
Has it finally sunk in that the two of you are married?
Palak: Yes. It's sinking in. It's been like three days since we got married. And the new life, the new journey, is beyond beautiful. The amount of blessings, the amount of love that we're getting from everybody. It just seems surreal. I wouldn't say that it hasn't sunk in yet because I can feel the contentment, I can feel the peace and the happiness, I'm soaking it all in.
How did you and Mithoon meet?
Palak: So we first met for work reasons only, during the recording of this song for the film Traffic, back in 2011. We knew each other professionally, I sang for Aashiqui 2 for him as well. Whenever we met, we met only for professional reasons, and I've admired and respected him a lot as a professional. But if you're asking how we met in a personal capacity, it was only after our parents communicated the rishta to me.

Women's era
Kiran Rao, Payal Kapadia and Shuchi Talati are redefining contemporary Indian cinema by placing women at the centre of their narratives, offering a refreshing perspective through the female gaze. Their films, Laapataa Ladies, All We Imagine As Light, and Girls Will Be Girls, not only explore women-oriented stories but also challenge the traditional male-dominated lens of storytelling, creating nuanced portrayals of women's experiences, aspirations and struggles.
