Filmfare, with JOY Personal Care as the main sponsor, successfully hosted the 7th Filmfare Awards Bangla on March 29 at the esteemed ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata. The Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2024 celebrated the remarkable talent and accomplishments of the Bengali film industry. Continuing its tradition of recognizing excellence, the event welcomed luminaries from both on and off-screen. This year, Atanu Ghosh, acclaimed for his outstanding storytelling and direction in Shesh Pata, was named Best Director. Prosenjit Chatterjee was honored as Best Actor (Male) for his remarkable performance in Shesh Pata, while Churni Ganguly received the Best Actor (Female) award for her captivating portrayal in Ardhangini. The evening also paid tribute to the illustrious filmmaker and insightful writer, Prabhat Roy, with the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award.
