GRAHAM PARKHURST: ONE TO WATCH

The star of Kim Cattrall’s new show, Glamorous, talks about working with a ‘goddess,’ embracing the spotlight and living in Toronto

When Graham Parkhurst found out he’d landed the role of Parker – a buffed (and often shirtless!) love interest in the new workplace dramedy Glamorous – he was sitting eating pizza in Italy. “What do you do in Italy? You eat carbs!” he says, laughing. “I literally had pizza in my mouth when I got the call.” With only three weeks to get in tip-top shape, he jumped straight into an intense fitness and nutrition routine, introducing “a ton of cardio” and cutting back on sugar – a tricky task for a self-proclaimed candy addict. “That was really hard,” admits the Canadian actor, 33.

The buzzed-about LGBTQ+ series follows an aspiring influencer, Marco (played by YouTube sensation Miss Benny), who lands a dream job with a makeup mogul (Sex and the City alum Kim Cattrall) and embarks on a journey of self-discovery. “It’s very camp, fast-paced fun,” says Graham, “but it’s also got some really touching parts.”
