I CHEATED DEATH IN MAUI INFERNO!

MOTHER Nature unleashed a fiery fusillade in Hawaii, turning the tropical paradise of Maui into a hellhole of ashes and broken lives! Raging wildfires driven by hurricane-force winds claimed nearly 100 lives and did more than $5.5 billion in damages. Hardest hit was the historic Lahaina, where residents were forced to run for their lives on a moment’s notice. Here survivor Annelise Cochran exclusively details her horrifying escape exclusively for National ENQUIRER readers.

On the fateful morning of Aug. 8, Annelise, a 30-year-old ecotourism company worker, heard reports about a local wildfire that had been “100 percent” contained. But as the day progressed, the smell of smoke started getting stronger and the winds picked up.

Sirens designed to warn island residents of danger were never sounded, but any sense of security evaporated as the inferno began to engulf Lahaina.
