Taking a deep breath as she waited behind double barn doors, beautiful bride Marnie Simpson was feeling “really emotional” as she counted down the final minutes before marrying her “soulmate” Casey Johnson.
In a stunning Galisa Grace dress with a cut-out bodice and matching veil – the first of three gowns she wore on the day – Marnie took the arm of her stepdad Eric as Boyce Avenue’s I’ll Be began to play. Then, as the doors gradually opened, they started walking down an aisle adorned with white flowers and fairy lights.
Seeing her loved ones in all their finery, and her husband-to-be waiting for her, dressed in a light-grey, three-piece suit, Marnie later tells us she immediately felt a sense of calm.
“I saw Casey and my friends and family and I felt at ease,” says the 31-year-old newlywed.
Casey, 27, adds, “[Watching] Marnie walking down the aisle was a once-in-a-lifetime experience – I’ll never forget that feeling. I was focused on her, it felt like no one else was there. It was incredible.”
At 1pm on 22 March the Geordie Shore star and her fiancé of three years said “I do” in their romantic ceremony exclusively covered by OK!. They were surrounded by 80 guests, which included her co-stars Charlotte Crosby, Holly Hagan, Nathan Henry and Sophie Kasaei and the couple’s two children Rox, three, and 10-month-old Oax. Their eldest son had an important part to play as ring bearer, and also put his own amusing stamp on the proceedings by making a noise when the “any objections?” line was read out – something that helped the giggling couple to relax.
