It is often said that things come in threes. Yet, after the health troubles faced by both King Charles and the Princess of Wales, the last thing anyone expected to hear was that the Princess Royal would find herself in hospital.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that Princess Anne, 73, had been taken to Bristol’s Southmead Hospital after sustaining “minor injuries and concussion” following an incident. It is believed the skilled horsewoman suffered head injuries while walking on her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire on Sunday, 23 June.
“It’s been a jaw-dropping year so far on the royal beat and this was another moment when I could hardly believe what I was hearing,” former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond exclusively tells OK!. “The concussion she sustained has left everyone, including herself, in the dark about exactly what happened, but it was clearly a very nasty injury.”
