Ben & J.Lo's $60 Million HOUSE of HORRORS

ON the night of June 9, a tense-looking Ben Affleck drove away from the Beverly Hills compound he owns with estranged wife Jennifer Lopez following a four-hour visit. The sit-down, an insider tells Star, was the latest attempt to hash out their issues. For weeks, Ben has been living in a $100Ka-month rental not far from the $60 million home they purchased last May.

A day earlier, it was reported that the duo had quietly put the property back on the market. Ben will be especially glad to be rid of it.

Despite its spacious size and luxe amenities — the 43,000-square-foot pad features 17 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, an indoor sports complex and an infinity pool — the home felt more like a prison than a haven for the Gone Girl actor. “Ben thought it was way too big for their needs but Jennifer wanted it so he caved,” says the insider. In recent months, the 51-year-old began to feel trapped within its walls. “Their relationship quickly deteriorated to the point where Ben couldn’t stand to be in the same house as Jennifer,” adds the insider. “He could retreat to another wing, but it wasn’t enough. He knew she was there. The house became a symbol of everything that was wrong in their marriage.”
