AFTER MEGHAN MARKLE LOSES HER SPOTIFY DEAL, QUESTIONS REMAIN ABOUT WHAT SHE AND PRINCE HARRY DO FOR THEIR MONEY.

ON her Archetypes podcasts, Meghan Markle explored various labels given to women that try to hold them back. She discussed being called a “diva” with Mariah Carey, while other guests on the 12-episode Spotify series included Serena Williams, Paris Hilton and Mindy Kaling. In an episode titled “To ‘B’ or Not to ‘B’?” the royal discussed how calling a woman “difficult” is “a code word for the b-word.”

She was about to be called worse. After Spotify announced it had “mutually agreed to part ways” with the 41-year-old, Spotify exec and sports podcaster Bill Simmons blasted her and her husband, Prince Harry, as “f**king grifters” on his June 16 podcast. The pile-on continued, with The Wall Street Journal reporting that the couple — who also have a $100 million Netflix deal — did not meet the productivity benchmark required for their $20 million Spotify deal. Then came questions about how much work Meghan had actually done on Archetypes. Now the parents of two are again on the defensive, an insider tells Star. “People can call them money hungry and even ‘grifters,’” says the insider. “Harry and Meghan think it’s all just jealous and mean people flinging stones.”
