I break hearts.” She did just that when she caught the eye of Blake Shelton in 2006, when he was still married to his first wife, Kaynette Williams. “It was just like this draw to each other. It was this inevitable chemistry,” the 39-year-old said of their instant connection when they performed a duet for a TV special. (Blake himself confessed to being gut-wrenched about his feelings toward Miranda because of his marital status. “I was a married guy, you know? Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’”) He and Kaynette split that year.
Stolen Heart
Miranda fell for Blake while he was married to his first wife. "She's had to live with the consequences," says a source.
Miranda, on the other hand, has few regrets about following her heart. She and Blake were married in 2011; they split in 2015 and she went on to wed 31-year-old New York City police officer Brendan McLoughlin in 2019, less than three months after they started dating. “Miranda has rubbed some people the wrong way over the years,” says the source, “but her brand is built on her being up front and irreverent.”
