Hours before Jennifer Lopez filed to end her two-year marriage with Ben Affleck on August 20, the actor was all smiles as he hopped off a private plane in Los Angeles with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, after dropping their daughter Violet, 18, off to college at Yale University. The proud parents – who also share Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12 – have been spending significant time together, with Garner committed to supporting Affleck amid his very public split from Lopez.

On August 15, Garner celebrated his 52nd birthday with him in his new home in Brentwood – entering the security code and letting herself in. The pair, who split after a decade of marriage in 2015 before finalising their divorce in 2018, also recently returned from a family trip to Japan.
