The whole show was a whirlwind,” Joe Bobbin chuckles as he chats to WHO over the phone as his Farmer Wants a Wife journey comes to an end. “It was really about trying to find what mattered and where we’re at and who would best suit me.”
The cattle and sheep farmer from Bombala, New South Wales has become a stand-out character on this year’s show, and he observes wryly that people have started to recognise him “wanting selfies and stuff like that, so [my life has] changed quite a bit actually”.
Now at the final hurdle in his quest for love, the 33-year-old has nothing but praise for the ladies – Sarah, 31, and Keely, 28 – who he selected as his final two.
“I had a feeling that Sarah would make it pretty far on the show from when [we] very first met. We’ve lived a very similar life,” the star gushes of the blonde livestock administrator, a New South Wales native who grew up on a farm.
