WHAT IS ENDOMETRIOSIS?

The endometrium is the uterine lining that causes menstruation and bleeding. The tissue can sometimes grow outside the uterus and in places where it should not, such as the ovaries and intestines. This causes endometriosis in women.

Symptoms Of Endometriosis

The following signs and symptoms can help you determine whether you have endometriosis or not:

• Pelvic and abdominal pain during menstruation (dysmenorrhea) and sex

• Excessive bleeding 

• Pain during bowel movements or urination (especially during periods)
