Myths and tales have long been an aspect of human civilisation. Passed down through generations, they often serve as a way to explain the inexplicable or to impart valuable lessons. While many myths are pure fiction, some are rooted in truth and have surprised people around the world by turning out to be true. Here are a few weird myths from different cultures that have astonishingly proven to be more than just stories.

The Lost City Of Atlantis

The legend of the lost city of Atlantis has captivated the imaginations of people for centuries. According to the Greek philosopher Plato, Atlantis was a prosperous and advanced island nation that mysteriously vanished beneath the sea. While many dismissed this as a fantasy, the discovery of the ancient Minoan city of Akrotiri on the Greek island of Santorini has prompted some researchers to believe that it might have inspired the Atlantis myth. This ancient city was indeed a thriving civilisation until it was buried by a volcanic eruption, eerily mirroring the fate of Atlantis.
