Karishma Swali

CO-FOUNDER, MOONRAY

Inspired by handcraft’s zero carbon footprint nature, the moonray Collective is an advocate of responsible innovation. Its love for the planet is reflected in the fabric used: organic viscose produced in sustainably-managed plantations, 80% organic cotton cultivated without pesticides and fertilisers, and denim that requires less water and energy and fewer chemicals. Founded in 2021, moonray is committed to creating beautiful clothes and accessories that honour our community and environment.

Karishma’s Sustainable Wardrobe Practices

“The timelessness and rarity of craft inspires me. My sartorial choices often blend handicraft and modernity to celebrate Indian craftsmanship. In my everyday life, I choose separates that are contemporary, versatile, and can be styled in more ways than one. For special occasions, I lean towards timeless pieces that transcend trends and seasons.”

Advice To Help Your Planet-Conscious Efforts

“Be mindful about your choices – invest in timeless pieces that transcend trends and seasons; they will always be a great addition to any wardrobe.”
