Based on a true story, new German-language series Sam – A Saxon stars Malick Bauer as Sam Meffire, who was the first black policeman in East Germany but whose meteoric rise to fame was followed by a spectacular fall from grace.
In Disney+’s drama, we first meet aspiring footballer Sam as he’s living with his girlfriend Antje (Luise von Finckh) in a flatshare in East Germany in the last year of the communist regime.
