The latest drama offering from ITVX is a modern ghost story with a dark twist and sees Jasmine Jobson take the lead as a woman who investigates her own death.
Based on the bestselling novel by Louise Doughty, the four-part psychological drama features the BAFTA-nominated Top Boy star as the spirit of Lisa Evans, who’s trapped at the railway station where she took her own life.
As the series begins, Lisa seems doomed to spend the rest of time waiting on Platform 7 in her nightclothes, with no memory of who she was or the events that led her to jump in front of an approaching train.
‘I had no idea how the producers were going to pull off an adaptation of this book,’ says novelist Doughty. ‘It felt almost unfilmable because the main character is a ghost and doesn’t interact with anybody for the first part of the story. But Jasmine is superb and when we go into Lisa’s backstory, we realize she was a real woman who was full of life. The tragedy of the situation makes us wonder what happened to this woman.’
