DCI Amy Silva took viewers on a nailbiting ride in the first series of Vigil in 2021, with millions tuning in to watch her board a crisis-stricken nuclear submarine to uncover a dark conspiracy. ‘There’s a big expectation on the new series,’ says Suranne Jones, who plays Amy. ‘The show attracted so many viewers, won an International Emmy and was nominated for a BAFTA, so these are quite big shoes to fill! But creator Tom Edge and the writers have done a brilliant job at putting a new world together, and it feels fresh and exciting.’
