MEGAN MCCUBBIN on meeting the amazing animals who live at Longleat

T during the first nationwide lockdown after her stepdad, Chris Packham, asked her to help him on hosting duties for Springwatch as the BBC2 nature series was broadcast live from he past two years have been a whirlwind for Megan McCubbin.



The zoologist shot to fame overnight their home in the New Forest.

Now, Megan's landed a brand-new job - joining the presenting line-up of BBC1's daytime favourite Animal Park, alongside returning stars Kate Humble and Ben Fogle. Her role will involve using her expertise to explore how the keepers at Longleat Safari and Adventure Park in Wiltshire keep all creatures great and small both entertained and in good health.

TV Times caught up with Megan, 27, to find out more about the new series...

You watched Animal Park while you were growing up, so what does it feel like to be hosting it? I never in a million years expected to be presenting a show like Springwatch, so now to join Animal Park is a real honour.

I remember watching it as a child and it was an inspiration. So yes, it’s quite surreal being on the show, and on my first day I didn’t know what to expect, but it’s been fantastic to be able to educate people about the amazing animals that live at Longleat.
