Long-term friends VICKY MCCLURE and JOHNNY HARRIS tell us about being reunited on screen in a complex thriller

Ever since Vicky McClure and Johnny Harris starred opposite each other in C4’s harrowing drama trilogy This Is England, they have dreamt of working together again.

So the close mates are thrilled to be teaming up for ITV1’s psychological thriller Without Sin, which follows a bereaved mum who confronts the man who has been accused of killing her child.

‘Our friendship is so special, we speak every day,’ smiles Line of Duty favourite Vicky, whose production company co-produced the series. ‘When it comes to getting in the head of a character, nobody does it better than Johnny.’

The four-parter sees Vicky play Stella Tomlinson, a cabby grieving for her teenage daughter, Maisy, who was murdered three years ago.

A stranger, Charles Stone (Great Expectations star Johnny), was found standing over the youngster’s body and is now in prison for the crime. However, when Stella reluctantly meets him as part of a restorative-justice programme, Charles drops a bombshell that causes her to embark on a dangerous mission to uncover the truth.
