SUSAN CALMAN’S SUMMER BY THE SEA
FRIDAY, 8PM, CHANNEL 5 TRAVELOGUE
Grab a stick of rock and some candyfloss as Susan Calman is off on her travels again, this time to explore more of Britain’s holiday hotspots for her latest Channel 5 seaside showcase, Summer by the Sea.
After her previous adventures in two series of Grand Week by the Sea, the new five-parter begins with the Scottish comedian visiting sunny Clacton-on-Sea in Essex, accompanied by her actor pal Nina Wadia. Later episodes will see Susan take in the delights of Bournemouth, Margate, Southwold and Cleethorpes, each with the help of a different celebrity companion (see our guide, right).
As Susan and her guests sample a range of activities, viewers can expect plenty of comedy bloopers along the way!
‘Whenever I have a mishap, spill something or fall over, they leave it in the show!’ laughs Susan, 48. ‘Luckily, the seagulls never go for me, though. I must have something about me that says, “Don’t try it!”’
Here, Susan talks us through her itinerary…
How excited are you to be hitting the road again for another summer series?
