Peranakan cuisine gets some contemporary makeover at Bol, in stunning interiors that blends the best of east-meets-west

Seated under the stars in a glass conservatory wrapped in transparent tropical prints, one realises that very few places in KL offer as magical a dining experience as this. We are in Bōl, one of the newer additions to Jalan Sin Chew Kee, a locale that has become the hippest neighbourhood in the city. The street here is lined with colonial houses dating back to the 1920s, a select few of which have been transformed into some of the city’s favourite F&B outlets. Among them the very popular morning joint Three Years Old, gin bar Pahit and artisanal Japanese haven Hinode Bento.
