Anupam Kher & Neena Gupta

Neena Gupta & Anupam Kher were in Delhi for the promotions of their film Shiv Shastri Balbao.

In a media interaction in Delhi while promoting the film, they talked about their new film, their characters, their bond with each other, and much more.

Regarding their working experience with each other, both Anupam and Neena were quite comfortable working with each other. "Sometimes it's very important for you to work with the people who can take care of you-on camera or off camera." And they both were quite happy. "Trust is the most important factor especially in cinema, we were very fortunate that we had a set of very good actors as well as the director and writer."

The actor recalled his days of struggle. But finding work wasn't always easy for him. He revealed that when he first went to Mumbai to become a screen actor, he found no work for three years "When I went to Mumbai from the National School of Drama in Delhi, I thought I would get work very quickly. I was a gold medallist at NSD, after all. But there I realized that hairstyle is more important than talent. I struggled a lot there for three years. Then I promised God that I will do whatever work I get, whatever film I am offered," he said.

Shiv Shastri Balboa is his first production. The actor revealed that it was the script that made him decide to back Shiv Shastri Balboa as a producer. The director Ajayan (Venugopalan, director) sent him the script, and he realised just after reading that he should go beyond just being an actor in this project. He had faith in the script, and he had realised that if the script translates properly into film, it would surely touch everyone's hearts.
