What makes it unique?
One of Margate’s classic seafront buildings, opposite Turner Contemporary gallery, has been restored to its former life as a hotel. In a nod to its history, sepia photographs and postcards of the seaside town in its bathing holiday heyday line the burnt orange walls.
Head down the bespoke mural-clad staircase at the back of the restaurant to the cavernous two-floor Fort Road Bar. Modern furniture and artwork by local artists including Tracey Emin (who regularly frequents the restaurant and bar) contrast with original cellar walls to provide an atmospheric backdrop for eclectic cocktails.
