While Chanel Boateng enjoyed her busy city life as an influencer and vlogger in London, she wanted more space for her two children. She knew that a move to the country would give her a better work-life balance and a laid-back lifestyle, as well as affording her the chance to indulge her love of interior design with a larger home to decorate. I've always had a passion for interiors,' says Chanel. I've found that it's become a natural part of my vlogging, and I wanted a home that would reflect me and my personality.'
With this in mind, Chanel decided on a new-build property, as this would give her a blank canvas with which to work her magic. However, choosing where to move was a trickier decision. Knowing she wanted to be in an area within reasonable travelling distance of London, she eventually settled on a home on the outskirts of Peterborough. Chanel loved it instantly as it ticked every box for her. I think I fell in love with the property before I'd even checked where it was,' smiles Chanel. I'd looked at so many new-build properties online and I'd been sent endless catalogues, but as soon as I saw this house I was smitten. I loved the double-fronted style and the layout, which seemed to flow really well, and I'd have space to convert a room into my work studio. Best of all, the children would be in a lovely area and the countryside views were to die for.'
DINING AREA
Chanel wanted this space to have a luxurious feel, so she went for velvet dining chairs and high-backed stools. 'The brass stud details pick up the gold from the mirrors,' she says
