Li Lu, famously known as one of the world's best-kept secrets, is a successful value investor. Since the inception of his firm Himalaya Capital Investors in 1998, he has managed to generate 26.4 per cent returns per annum. Interestingly, he is the only investment manager who has earned the trust of Charlie Munger. Describing Lu as 'Chinese Warren Buffett', Munger has entrusted his family money to Lu. Today, BYD, a Chinese electric-vehicle manufacturer, has a weightage of 1 per cent in Berkshire's portfolio. It was Li Lu only who introduced Buffett and Munger to this company.
