Why would one go to a nutritionist?
Because you need body compliance and accountability. The other day somebody asked me, "Are you not afraid of artificial intelligence and losing your job?" ChatGPT is already making diet charts and so are other software companies. But every one of those clients ends up coming to my clinic because they like talking about it.
What is your take on keto diets, intermittent diets, and various other diets?
The word diet is negative. We should call it nutrition. My only advice to people is to consult a medical expert, a nutritionist, or a dietician to guide them. If you are following a diet on your own, do not do it for more than 90 days. People should not chase weight loss as their pure, superior goal. Chase great health, and weight loss will become a byproduct. Instead of temporary diets, one should think of the long-term sustainability of learning to enjoy foods. Most of us are slaves to our taste buds. I say become a slave to your thought process, your scientific thinking, and your discipline.
When you stand on a weighing scale, do not look at the weight as an absolute measure. Ask, Does my weighing scale have a fat percentage, a visceral fat percentage, and a muscle percentage? Because muscle is the fat-burning organ. A lot of people, when they lose weight, starve their muscles. But fat is like this very miserly molecule; fat cells reside in your body for almost 8 years.
