MoFi StudioPhono

A LARGELY FEATURELESS, low-profile black box that's rather understated, attractive and very nicely put together with a chassis made from metal. That's a rather perfunctory description.

This phono preamp features a bank of DIP switches (on the underside) to trim impedance (75ohm to 47kohm) and set gain (40dB to 66dB). Fiddly, of course, but largely set and forget unless you're constantly swapping cartridges. A subsonic filter is provided as is a Mono button, which connects the two-channel input of its second stage amplifier to emulate the performance of a dedicated mono cartridge (ideally, the best way to hear mono records).
