Fortunately, Goa's youthful and dynamic Chief Minister champions sustainability, fostering a culture of conscientiousness and spearheading impactful initiatives. Under his stewardship, several measures have been implemented, propelled by a personal commitment to harnessing every available resource. Foremost among these initiatives is the prioritization of renewable energy-an imperative for a state blessed with ample natural bounty and renowned for its pristine environment.

Last July, the Chief Minister pledged that by 2030, Goa would transition primarily to renewable energy sources. "The government has sanctioned a comprehensive policy, awaiting central approval, encompassing solar and hydro energy, among others," he affirmed. Recognizing the global momentum behind solar power adoption, particularly among developed nations, the Chief Minister underscores the pivotal role renewable energy will play in Goa's sustainable future. As a premier tourism destination, Goa stands to reap manifold benefits from this transition, further motivating the Chief Minister's unwavering commitment to these visionary endeavors." Established in 1996, the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) lay dormant for years, devoid of significant activity.
