The lead-up to Christmas is a time that fills most young families with excitement. But for Georgie Burt, it marks the worst moment of her life.
Two years ago on December 16, Georgie lost her "partner in crime", son Zane Mellor, in the Tasmanian school jumping castle accident. Zane, aged 12, was on a jumping castle at Hillcrest Primary School in Devonport when a sudden gust of wind lifted it into the air. Zane fell and succumbed to his injuries. Since then, life hasn’t been the same for Georgie.

“When I lost him, it was like the floor had opened up and swallowed me. There will forever be a massive hole in my life.”
As the two-year anniversary arrives, the Hillcrest Primary School community are remembering Zane and the five other students whose lives were cut short that day – Addison Stewart, 11, Jye Sheehan, 12, Jalailah JayneMaree Jones, 12, Peter Dodt, 12, and Chace Harrison, 11. Georgie recalls how
