Kim Lewis: 'I KNEW I HAD TO LEAVE'

ONE DARK PLOT SAW THE STAR LEAVE SONS AND DAUGHTERS FOR GOOD

Kim Lewis was the ultimate girl next door in the ’80s, and an indisputable television darling. 

As a young actress, Kim became a household name on Aussie soap The Restless Years. Then she joined the hugely popular Sons and Daughters, and things changed drastically.

“We got mobbed by fans – it was quite exciting,” says Kim, who played Jill Taylor.

Kim, now 59, especially enjoyed working with icons like Rowena Wallace and the late Pat McDonald.

“Rowena is such a beautiful person,” she shares. “I learnt so much from her and Pat.”

Even though Kim loved her time on Sons and Daughters, she didn’t always agree with Jill’s narrative arc.

“It got a little bit weird when my character got raped and then had a baby,” Kim recalls.

The writers then came up with the idea that Jill would start seeing her rapist while he was in jail, which forced Kim to step in.
