Bestselling author Pip Drysdale loves to keep her readers guessing. And her latest novel The Close-Up is no different, with plenty of twists and turns packed into every chapter!

Set in Los Angeles, The Close-Up follows young novelist, Zoe Ann Weiss, who is struggling to finish her second book. Amid all this, a stalker begins terrorising Zoe using violent events from her first book against her.

With numerous works to her name, Pip finds inspiration from where she's at in her life. While it changes from book to book, her actual writing process remains the same.

"I wake up, I turn up, put on coffee, and I write or try," Pip tells New Idea.

"Then the words come out how they come out." Pip admits that she has experienced bouts of writer's block during her career. She tapped into this to delve into Zoe's crippling writer's block in The Close-Up.

"It's truly awful when it happens because it just feels like, 'how am I ever going to do this again?" she says.
