WHY THOSE LOOKING AFTER LOVED ONES NEED MORE SUPPORT THAN EVER
The true cost of BEING A CARER

Right now across Australia more than 2.65 million unsung heroes are going about their day. You may be one yourself. They work selflessly around the clock as carers to family and loved ones, supporting them and tending to their needs. They provide care to those living with a disability, chronic or life-limiting illness, are frail aged, have a mental illness or have an alcohol or other drug-related condition.

When a family member or close friend falls ill, who steps in to help? According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 70 per cent of these primary carers are women. But it can come at a huge financial loss, with many expected to have superhuman abilities to care full-time, look after family and keep the money coming in.
