One of the more memorable Thanksgivings was in college when a group of us decided to drive to Colorado's Beaver Creek Resort. The snow was ideal and the trip a couple hours.

This Thanksgiving, instead of traveling to see the family or staying home, check out a few of these destinations for alternative Thanksgiving weekends.

Southern California Residents

Explore the majesty of southern California and spend the weekend at any southern California beach community. For our money, we say check out Mission Beach in San Diego, Huntington Beach in Orange County, and Manhattan/Hermosa Beaches in Los Angeles. There is plenty of eye candy to keep your head on a swivel during the day and the packed bars at night provide plenty of targets for a single guy.
