On October 5, news emerged from the Abujhmad jungles that soldiers had killed 31 Naxalites, the largest success against the insurgents in the state, which has battled Naxalite violence for nearly four decades. His administration's firm stance against violence has led to continued successes, with Naxalites being either killed or surrendering under mounting pressure.
