FIVE-STAR SPIREITES TURN ON THE STYLE

Laurence Maguire opened the scoring with a header midway through the first half before Armando Dobra and Will Grigg made it 3-0 at the break, the latter from the penalty spot.

Quigley made it four early in the second period and although Jake King pulled a goal back for Alfreton, Quigley wrapped things up just after the hour mark following good work from summer signing Bailey Hobson, who was playing against his former side.

Two second half goals from Keaton Ward helped Boston United to a 2-1 win at neighbours Boston Town for whom Fraser Bayliss scored a consolation and there was a brace from Charlton Athletic’s Nathan Asiimwe as they won 2-1 at Dartford, Lewis Manor netting for the hosts who had defender Paul Rooney sent off.
