TAMWORTH boss Andy Peaks hailed his runaway leaders for avoiding a bannana skin as they moved to within a point of back-to-back promotions.

A record attendance for a Step 2 game at The Lamb saw goals from Chris Wreh, Nathan Tshikuna and Kyle Finn.

Peaks said: “We sometimes haven’t stepped up to the mark in front of big crowds but everyone will have been impressed with the display, particularly in the second half.

We successfully evaded a potential banana skin against a decent side that perhaps deserve more than their position suggests.

“So we can go into the final four games knowing we can re-write the club’s history books if we pick up the final point we need to seal back-to-back promotions.”
