LIGHTS, CAMERA -AND ACTION!

LUKE WILLIAMS has watched the Welcome to Wrexham documentary series, and he quite enjoyed it seeing as you asked.
LIGHTS, CAMERA -AND ACTION!

Tomorrow, his Notts County side get their opportunity to step into frame and have their say on how this season ends.

On Good Friday, the story took yet another twist with Notts beating Wealdstone to return back to the National League’s summit thanks to Wrexham’s defeat to FC Halifax Town.

Level on points, split only by goal difference, Wrexham may still boast a game in hand but they don’t come much bigger than this.

“Football is the biggest spectator sport in the world,” Williams, below, said. “People want to watch football and to feel emotion. That’s what it’s about. They want to see theatre, they want to see drama.

“How exciting is it to have big players, players that are in incredible form, with Hollywood owners and a famous club in Notts County? There’s a lot of ingredients for a great story and great theatre.

“We are very fortunate to be involved in the production of this. We have to enjoy it. Of course we have a determination and desire to win.

“But ultimately football is about people being able to experience emotion and drama.

“It’s all there. All the things you need for this type of brilliant, exciting production are there.”

Williams says League One teams would struggle to beat Wrexham and that’s why they need to be on their best form. And control emotions – that’s where Williams believes the processes they’ve built up over the season can kick in to give them the best chance of playing as they can.

“I will share with you – when we played a few weeks back at Bromley, me, as the head coach, became too animated,” Williams said. “One of the players in the squad, in a very respectful way, said, ‘Gaffer, relax’.
