Magpies show a gulf in class

NOTTS COUNTY emphatically answered a half time challenge from boss Luke Williams to put a dent in Woking's hopes of a top three finish.

For the second time in a week, wily Williams was unhappy with his side's first half display as the visitors matched them in a scrappy 45 minutes and he said: "I asked the players whether they wanted me to make excuses for them or if they wanted to grow up. We looked like a group of players who were feeling sorry for ourselves." 

County's three-goal response, led by impressive Sam Austin, not only satisfied Williams - but sent out a message to their potential play off challengers.

Notts may be gutted to be hot favourites to finish second in a two-horse race, but they are still light years ahead of the rest.
