Moors Whing their way to Wembley

ALEX WHITMORE’S headed double sealed history for Solihull Moors as they beat play-off rivals Bromley to book their first ever trip to Wembley.

Solihull’s dominant firsthalf performance was rewarded with a first-half lead courtesy of Whitmore’s header. Bromley drew level in the second half through Ben Krauhaus’ volley.

But the game was ultimately decided 16 minutes from time when Whitmore headed them into the final.

Moors boss Andy Whing felt it was a deserved victory, saying: “I’m absolutely delighted. The conditions were terrible and it affected the quality of the game but we had the most quality.

“Bromley are very good at putting the ball in the box and we had to stand up and defend for our lives in the second half but my players were fantastic to a man.”
