OSBORNE AIMS TO FULFIL HIS BIG MOORS  EFL-DREAM.

VICTORY in today’s National League play-off final for Solihull Moors will ensure it is mission accomplished for skipper and club stalwart Jamey Osborne.

The 31-year-old first signed in 2016 and returned to his home town club following a brief stint with League Two newcomers Grimsby Town, clocking up more than 200 appearances in the process.

Osborne was one of four players with Moors when they lost out to Grimsby in the play-off final two seasons ago but suspension ensured he had to watch from the sidelines. Now he is hoping to help guide the club into the Football League for the first time.

He said: “One thing I’ve repeatedly said to the chairman, Darryl Eales, over the past five or six years was that I wanted to get this football club into the Football League – he is the one person that I owe it to because of the amount of trust and faith he’s had in me. I have a chance to do it this year, two years ago I could only affect it off the pitch.

“Three of the lads played in that final [Joe Sbarra, James Clarke and Callum Maycock] and I’ve spoken to all of them in the last few weeks. They’ve said that they can’t go through what they went through last time – the defeat and the three or four weeks afterwards. Hopefully we can get the result this time.
