Champions Cup victories over Montpellier and the Stormers, on top of their Premiership Cup win last month, have left Exeter in a much better place than many feared.
South African back rower, Aidon Davis, who scored the winning try in last month’s thrilling Cup win against London Irish, says the Chiefs head to Welford Road on a roll.
“There was a lot of uncertainty going through the season – who is leaving, who is staying and all of that. We have finally found our rhythm,” the much-travelled 28-yearold said. “There has been a massive shift in the mental side of our game, and you can see that on the field. The boys who are going want to leave the club in a good place and we are looking to perform every weekend to the best of our abilities.”
For Davis, a first-ever visit to Welford Road is something special in its own right, but the chance to get one over on his old team-mate, Jasper Wiese, adds extra spice.
