Martin Webdale, who takes care of Loughborough’s BUCS side while Brad Jones and James Peters look after the National League team, said: “In National League rugby we will generally struggle a little bit in terms of the collisions or in terms of set-pieces when playing against older, more experienced players.
“Each team in National League 2 West has really good, strong experienced players or some who may be moving down the levels as they get older.
“It’s really good for our guys to come out of school or academy-level rugby and go to somewhere like Redruth or Luctonians and experience that on a Saturday.”
The students have had a mixed ride this season, and went into the weekend in ninth place.
